Jean Ivey writes from decades of experience in all aspects of the horse world and has been published numerous times in magazines such as Arabian Horse World, Arabian Visions and The Khamsat. She has worked to preserve horses who trace all lines of their pedigree to the horse-breeding tribes of the Arabian desert. She wants to give people an awareness and understanding of these unique individuals.
Speaking of these horses, Jean says, "I believe
their unique ability to communicate may come from their long association with man. These
are the horses that for millennia lived in the homes of their people. Sometimes the horses
slept in the tents. Children played at their feet without fear. Men rode them
into battle, where the communication between horse and rider meant the difference between
life and death. These horses have the ability to communicate with us, and each
other."
